Core 256 Review

FOH Magazine Reviews Core 256

FOH Magazine’s Steve M. Savanyu took Core 256 on the road for a severe round of testing and ultimately concluded:

“After spending some time using the CORE 256, I have to say it’s an excellent unit. The combination of massive I/O capacity and ultra-low latency make it ideal for capturing, mixing and processing live and studio scenarios. The Thunderbolt connection is robust and rock solid.

When coupled an M4 Mac Mini, I can carry my entire playback and effect processing setup in a briefcase. For critical applications, dual Core 256 units with Control | Pack offers a powerful solution with channel-based redundancy. This configuration is a go-to solution for playback live processing as well as routing preset switching for show control. The powerful, easy to use DADman control application streamlines setups and configuring complex routing assignments, and I could run it remotely over my network.

For tours, broadcast events, theater and house of worship applications, this “DAD” might not take up much space. But, simply put Core 256 is the ideal Dante and MADI interface that will streamline and optimize any multichannel workflow – seamlessly –  I like this one.

Thanks, DAD!”
